Great connection, clear and crisp
I’ve been really impressed with this radio set so far. What sold me first was the nationwide coverage. I’ve used it in many different locations and it works without any hassle. The sound quality is super clear, even when there’s a lot of background noise, which makes a big difference when you actually need to hear the other person. Communication is instant with no lag which is incredibly convenient. The battery life is another big plus. I can go days without needing to recharge and the USB-C charging makes it easy. I also like that it feels solid and well-built, not flimsy at all, and handles different weather without issues. Knowing the conversations are encrypted is reassuring too. Everything you need comes in the box, so it’s ready to use right away. Overall, it feels reliable, easy to use, and well worth it for work or outdoor activities.

Easy set up& long lasting battery
These walkie talkies are the goat. I haven’t seen or heard of unlimited range until these. They truly work at an unlimited distance. After reading the instructions it was easy to set up. No configuration needed. Its all done for you once you enter the info into the webpage. The sims come preloaded. The quality of the radio is phenomenal and the connection is very clear. This is a great set for anyone who wants to stay in contact weather be hunting, or parents to children outside. I highly recommend. We will be taking camping each time.

Unhappy and Frustrated
Received item in a timely manner. Charged it up. Tried it out. One radio won’t connect to service. Reread all the instructions. Downloaded another manual from internet, hoping it gave more details of problem. The manual that came in box was very small print, not user friendly at all. At least when downloaded, it was bigger print I could easily read. BUT, it gave no additional info to help. Took out battery (which is tough to do) and reinserted as directed, so it would reconnect. NOT! No do! By now I’m completely frustrated! Now it recommends calling customer service for help. I was purchasing these, thinking they would be a better and easier communication when hunting than my cellphone. At this point, I’m thinking my cellphone was easier! Every time there’s an issue I don’t want to have to call customer service or get the manual out. Especially if I’m up in a tree stand hunting! At this point I can’t give a positive review because I can’t even use them. At $400, this wasn’t what I thought it would be.

Worked surprisingly well for road trips and camping
I am an avid hiker, camper, and wilderness backpacker. Safety and being in touch with family is very, VERY important to me. For that reason, I had invested in the Garmin inReach Explorer+ for whenever I go out into the wilderness so my family can track where I am and occasionally receive text messages that I am OK. The Garmin works via satellite communication and requires a hefty, monthly fee (plus an annual activation fee if I don’t purchase an annual plan). As an occasional backpacker, that is just too costly for me, but when I do go, I would activate the Garmin (about $30, if I remember right) and pay for 1 month service for the 3-5 day trip. In total, it comes to about $50, I think. It’s been a while since I’ve done it.For road trips with 2 or more cars, we stay in touch with the other drivers via cell phone, but we often find ourselves in dead spots with no cell signal at all. The other option was to purchase a Starlink satellite system, but that’s costly too for occasional use.I decided to give these radios a try. It promises nationwide communication without a monthly fee (you do have to pay $50/radio after the first year — activate just for the year you want to use it in. So, a total of $100 for two radios for an entire year). I tested it. From California all the way to Idaho, we were able to stay in constant communication, even on the highway to Yosemite National Park where the cellphone (Verizon and T-Mobile) stopped working. I was surprised. Very surprised. Surprised because this radio operates off the LTE cell spectrum — yet, it behaved almost like a HAM radio. There were occasional spots where the signal was a bit choppy, but it worked most of the time.I have yet to take it with me into the deep wilderness while backpacking, but you bet I’ll try it with the Garmin inReach Explorer+ as the primary on my next adventure, and keep this Radio as a backup for nearly “free”, unlimited communication with my family at home. I’d then use the Garmin only for true emergencies (it has an SOS function that would connect me to Search & Rescue) and breadcrump GPS tracking so the family knows where I am at. The radios will hopefully work so that I can chat with my kids during breaks or when about to go sleep in the tent.I highly recommend this.
