Seamless Addition to Our Nest Security
This renewed camera works flawlessly with our existing Nest security system. It was easy to integrate, and the video quality is excellent, just like our other Nest cameras. Having it as an additional layer of outdoor security has given us extra peace of mind. It’s a great option for expanding a Nest setup and renewed was the way to go.

Don’t buy from this company
Camera never worked. Called google and they told me it was an 2019 camera that was out of warranty.

Dead After 8 Months
This is the second camera in this category that I have purchased. Because it was “Renewed” it has a somewhat serious flaw I need to point out. Most products in this category have been returned for one reason or another and can’t be sold as new anymore. I noticed that it had the tell-tale makings of a camera that someone tried to install but returned. I knew this before I clicked the Buy button on Amazon so this was acceptable after all, I got a discount on the price. These are expensive cameras but they are full featured and reliable. Here’s the flaw, these Gen1 Nest cameras have a horseshoe cutout that allows them to be angled from their mounting base on a ball & socket stem. It makes it possible to point the camera downward from a high location. These are wide angle cameras (you don’t need to pan the camera) that have the ability to automatically & digitally pan (the camera does not actually move) & zoom-in on people that enter their field of view which is a very useful feature. However, this particular camera has the cutout on one side of the camera instead of at the bottom. Result- it can only move to the right from its base, not down or even to the left, doing so will tilt the lens off-axis so you’ll be looking at the field of view sideways or at an angle. Fortunately, that’s exactly what I needed it to do so I haven’t returned it as the customer before me has done. This was obviously a design error because as I stated, this is not my first camera of this model. They improved the mounting base in their Gen2 cameras by making them magnetic which allows them to point in any direction. Of course this makes them easier to steal so they have to be mounted at a distance or location not easily reachable.UPDATE: I had to unplug the camera because I needed temporary access to the power outlet. Plugged the camera back in when I was finished and NOTHING. The camera died. I bought it 8 months ago.

These are the BEST!
These cameras are far superior to the new ones that Google has available. They are only available used or refurbished, but I would hands down bug this before buying any of the new ones. It’s more expensive, but worth it.

Don’t Do It, Read the negative reviews
I went with this with the hope “refurbished” was gonna be legit. We’ll upon opening the box. It’s a regular box. Not factory. The parts are all loose. Camera was barely protected.Installed it and it had software issues. Had to return it cause of this. The product Is not fully tested for refurbished.Don’t go with the refurbished ones. Go new. Less hassle and comes with real warranty.

Purchased 3 of these Nest IQ Cameras, way to sensitive!
I’ve had Nest IQ at home for a pretty long time now. When 2 of my IQ cameras broke (reset button was stuck)I purchased 3 of them from Amazon that have been renewed. ( so pre-owned or returned )The 2 cameras I set up are extremely sensitive.A bird flys by in the middle of the night and I get a familiar face alert. Funny at first, but not when your depending on the unit as a point of security.Over all it’s a great buy for the price, vendor packages and delivers product in a timely manner. Cameras looked almost new.I’m not sure if it’s the cameras or the google nest software that’s the issue causing the false notifications. TBD

I have four of these Nest Cam IQ Outdoor cameras – love them. So when I needed one more and couldn’t find any, I bought this ‘renewed’ one from Amazon. Even though the brand on the listing says ‘Amazon Renewed’ that is nonsense – as I learned when I called after finding out it doesn’t work. It is a third party seller that Amazon is camouflaging behind their name.So I set it all up and found it didn’t work. After a few hours of troubleshooting (the error it was throwing a ‘unable to connect to Bluetooth’ error, so we tried all the troubleshooting on that first), I finally found another Reddit thread that mentioned that it could actually be the power source. So we dismantled one of my existing, working cameras and swapped out the power block and power cable. And after some troubleshooting we’re able to make the new camera work by replacing the power cable with one of my other ones (so the camera and power block were fine, but the power cable was defective). So I called Amazon to tell them, expecting that they would replace the USB C to USB C 15v cable with a new one (given you can buy them from Anker or Belkin on Amazon), or maybe credit me back a portion for having to replace this defective part myself…but no, their only solution was for me to return the entire thing (camera and all) and get a full refund – which, given that this product has been discontinued for over two years which is why I was willing to buy a refurbished one to begin with did not help me at all. And I told them that. When I asked why they can’t just send a working cable, they then confessed that it is actually a third party seller so Amazon can’t do anything about it.Seems like if Amazon is going to put their name on these things when they sell them, then they stand by ‘their’ product and should be prepared to handle it to make it right. Very disappointed in Amazon. Just a front man for empty space behind them…smoke and mirrors.
