AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900XT 16-Core, 32-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

Cool , and fast , no regrets !
Grabbed this 5900xt to replace my 5900x (a nice over clocker) , as the 5900x was going into another rig . ~ So far the 5900xt has been fantastic , cool and fast . ~ Doing a somewhat mild PBO overclock, the chip does consistent 5100/5150+ on most cores (and up to 5265+) . ~ The chip has been 100% problem free, and its matched with a MSI Tomahawk 570S Wifi and 64 gig 3600 (2×32) . ~ I do has ths chip under water (a mild Alpha Cool setup with two rads) .This chip will definitely AND EASILY hold me off till AMD 6 .*** Added note : I do heavy game with this also with 3 34″ Ultrawide monitors in AMD EyeInfinity (3 screens as one) using a Sapphire 7900xtx Nitro+ at a resolution of 10300 x 1400 . No problems running any AAA game , with this 5900xt and 7900xtx . ~ Again Iam pretty well set till AM6 .

A powerhouse on the AM4 platform !
The Ryzen 9 5900XT is a powerhouse on the AM4 platform, delivering performance that sits just below the top-tier 5950X. The minor 100 MHz clock speed difference is practically unnoticeable in real-world use.At under $300, the price-to-performance ratio is outstanding. Furthermore, its thermal efficiency is impressive: using a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE Black CPU Air Cooler, my temperatures never go above 40c, even during full load.Highly recommended—this is a fantastic CPU!

Fast CPU, does run hot
Fast CPU, does run very hot. Apps all load pretty much instantly now, thanks to it’s 73 megs of cache. Very smooth CPU.Update** Undervolted all cores with a slight .06 offset and system is very stable running significantly cooler.Update 2** I didn’t feel like I was getting the performance I desired while this CPU was Undervolted so I upgraded to a 360 mil AIO cooler and set the CPU turbo mode back to “auto”, now I feel like I’m getting great performance. This is a beast of a CPU and it runs very hot without an undervolt. A 360 mil cooler is highly recommended to get good performance out of this CPU. My CPU now peaks at 78 degrees C, was peaking at 90 with my air cooler. Just shows how hot this CPU runs. Granted the load that I give my CPU is just standard load running multiple games, not a full CPU load benchmarking software load. So 78 degrees C with a 360 mil AIO cooler under a medium load, CPU runs hot, very very hot. 420 mil cooler would probably do a bit better. You will get the most performance out of the CPU with a strong cooling solution. Stability will improve as well.

Excellent upgrade for AM4 platform
Very pleased with this purchase. Upgraded from Ryzen 7 2700. This new CPU performs much better!What I did not expect was the ECC RAM I used for my older CPU was not compatible with this one. The PC would boot, the fans would spin at full speed, and it would never post. I needed to use the PSU switch to turn it off. I tried many things, including clearing the CMOS, but eventually it began working after changing out the RAM.

Placed order, item came a week earlier then expected and installed with a Noctua D12l and got running the day of delivery. I upgraded from a 3600 so the difference is insane. Render times are about halved and it is definitely something to see all 16 cores put to use. If you are trying to extend the life of an AM4 platform or holding out for AM6, I would definitely recommend upgrading to this chip which will still be a beast for another few years. 9950x 50% faster on average in multicore workloads but factor in the cost of ram and mobo upgrades and I would argue it’s not worth it.

Excellent processor for multi-task work. I use it on photoshop and few AI rendering projects and the extra cores are great. I upgraded from a 5800X processor, which had half the cores/threads as this processor and you can tell the difference when doing muti-task work. Having said that, if you are looking to buy this for better gaming, this might not be the one for you (Unless you are going from a really old AM4 processor). The single core processing is still really good but the 5800X for example, was almost exactly the same as this one in single core work, so dont expect better frames or anything if you are buying this for games. Games are still GPU heavy. If you want something for gaming, save your money on the processor and invest in a better graphics card, that is where you will see the most benefit. If you do not do media work or AI rendering etc. then other than a few seconds of faster loading of programs, dont expect the world of difference in what you see. Also, this processor does run a little more hot than my 5800X but I use a water cool AIO and on idle it is around 32C and in gaming it is around 45-55C and under heavy rendering load it hits 62C, still really good I think but if you are not using an AIO (or traditional water cooling system), then I would invest in a top tier air(fan) cooler (which are not that expensive and less parts to fail unlike in a AIO setup and can last longer but wont keep it exactly as cool, but still a fan system will do a decent job), but I would definitely invest in a top tier air cooler. A great buy for those in the AM4 world, but this will last me for years until I move to the new AM5 platform (or whatever is current at that time). Also to note it is good practice to upgrade your BIOS BEFORE installing this processor, will save you a lot of trouble and time.
