Powerful CPU but Power Hungry
This CPU was a significant upgrade from my Ryzen 5 4600G. The thermals are noticeably higher than on the 4600G, but the faster clock speeds and additional cores more than compensate for the increased power consumption. Temperature spikes are quicker and more frequent, which causes the CPU fan to ramp up noticeably, but the stock cooler handled a 5-minute stress test without issue.I wouldn’t call it the best price-to-performance option on the market, but for my home lab it meets every need perfectly. Overall, I recommend it for users with similar workloads who prioritize performance over efficiency.

Great cpu upgrade. Remember to update bios before installation.
Noticeable upgrade from my previous Ryzen 3800XT. Without my cpu bottlenecking my gpu my games like war thunder run flawlessly on ultra settings. Highly recommend this cpu as the best for current AAA titles.Remember to update bios before installing the new cpu if your previous one was installed before the new ones release date. Your motherboard will not recognize it and not boot.

Good CPU, terrible cooler.
Great CPU to keep the older AM4 platform going. The only two issues with it is that it is a heat monster and the Wraith Prism included with it has no hope of cooling it properly.The Wraith Prism included with the CPU I bought had what looked like a dot pattern of thermal putty, and not a sheet of paste that it should have. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and tried installing it, only to be greeted with 75C idle temperatures that quickly shot up to 90-100C under even light loads like booting into Windows.Removing the cooler for inspection revealed the thermal putty dots had barely expanded and through the gaps, about 50% of the IHS was not covered by anything. I scraped all of it off and used some good thermal paste spread out all over the IHS for 100% coverage. This didn’t get the temperatures down much, and the CPU still hit the high 80s under load, with the fan annoyingly ramping up and down rapidly. The blades on my cooler weren’t balanced properly so it caused the whole machine to vibrate more or less depending on how fast the fan was spinning.I opted to just ditch the Wraith Prism and used a different air cooler entirely. Lower temps, no annoying fan noise and the case wasn’t trying to vibrate itself apart like a concrete vibrator.Performance wise, it is far and above the CPU it replaced, a Ryzen 5 1500X I bought back in 2017.

Good AM4 upgrade. Pain to install the cooler. RGB on by default.
The price was right, so I upgraded from a ryzen 2600 for roughly 50-80% more CPU power in CPU limited loads. It won’t help if you are limited by your GPU in a game, but there are plenty of times when a faster processor will help, particularly for video production, multitasking, etc.Note that if you are upgrading, you will probably need to flash your bios with a USB drive. This was very easy to do on my computer, but you do need to flash it *before* you install the new processor.Because the included cooler attaches to the clip-style brackets on an AM4 motherboard, I had to dig out my old brackets and reattach them to the motherboard. Thankfully I still had them in the closet. These brackets specifically had to be removed for the previous cooler that came with the Ryzen 2600. Even after I got the brackets reattached, the hooks are quite hard to attach, especially if you haven’t removed your motherboard from the case to do the processor swap. I found it was easier to start with the hook with the latch, then make sure to center up the cooler on the top of the processor. You have to get it squared up just right so that the opposite side hook has enough room to clip on. Then just turn the latch and plug it into the motherboard.Also the cooler comes with RGB activated by default, which is silly. There are additional cords you can run to your motherboard, and then you have to download software to control the RGB. You can’t turn off the RGB without the software because it is on by default. Please AMD, just make the RGB off by default and let us turn it on with the software.

Powerful AM4 Performance
A powerful AM4 CPU that you can often find on great sales. It’s not like the X3D variant but somehow offers slightly better performance in purely productivity workloads (X3D excels more in gaming with much more cache). I’ve used a relatively cheap cooler with RGB but it does include its own, I would trust it as the temps often don’t reach beyond 80 degrees… with that said I would liquid cool it if you can find an affordable AIO cooler.

The processor works great. It runs on the hotter side due to its design but the heat level is fine if you have a good cooler. With a Noctua NH-D14 cpu cooler I get max 78C when running Cinebench (the processor can safely run up to 90c before thermal throttling).I haven’t tried the stock cooler it came with but a lot of people online say the stock cooler isn’t very good for this processor. It could work but you’ll likely see very high temperatures with the stock cooler but there’s decent tower coolers for $20 to $30 on amazon that would work way better.If you want to get the most speed out of your processor you can enable precision boost override in the bios so it will automatically dynamically overclock itself when it needs extra speed but I would only do this if you have a good cooler as it will make it run hotter.All around great CPU for the price if its used mainly for gaming.
Lo compre en descuento durante el Black Friday como upgrade a mi Ryzen 5 5600 ya que con los precios de la RAM actuales no era viable pasarme a AM5. A la hora de mi compra estaba a solo 500Mx mas que comprar un R7 5700X, pero este venia con cooler por lo que me salia igual que comprar un buen cooler para el 5700X.Me gusta mucho el cooler, bastante vistoso con un RGB muy bonito y de un tamaño bueno para el CPU. El CPU como tal tiene temperaturas algo altas cuando se usa en juegos o actividades pesadas, sin embargo no es nada del otro mundo. Aunque si recomiendo que si lo compras y vives en un area calurosa considera un cooler mas robusto.Nada que pedirme en juegos que uso personalmente. En 1080p va bien con mi 9060XT, no me da cuello de botella y es estable.

a beast of a CPU to get for a budget built , although it heats upto 80c with stock cooler in summer ,it hasn’t dropped in performance yet. i would suggest getting a new thermal paste and applying that as the pre installed thermal paste is not that good and a new 600-800 thermal paste can lower the temps by 5-9 degrees easily . may it be gaming productivity or just casual use this cpu can handle it all without any lag or issue

Hands down the fastest am4 CPU, be warned though – it can get toasty. For my use case the wraith prism cooler couldn’t hack it, continuously kept jumping to 70% speed or so, which makes it very very noisy.So yea – great cpu but make sure you have plenty of airflow or aio cooling

ryzen5 5500 からの乗り換え。シングル、マルチともに30%以上の性能向上。メインタスク以外にも、google検索とかちまい部分にも性能向上を感じます。ただ、熱が強くなったせいかファンがうるさいシーンは増えました。用途によっては65WのCPUの方がコスパが良いかもしれません。写真はクーラーのイメージですが、トップフローは好みが分かれるかも。コスパの高いといわれるryzen5000番台のCPUではシングルタスクでは最高峰なので、より強いマルチタスク性能を求めなければ、5800XTが最強（コスパ込み）です！
