Worth the premium if it lasts
Premium performance and build. If it lasts, it would have been worth it.

WARNING DESIGN FLAW – DO NOT PURCAHSE
Unfortunately, the carbon fiber casing that encloses the screen is very thin. And while it is very strong, it is also very flexible. And if you are not extremely careful it will bend enough to easily crack the screen!!! This, in my opinion is a design flaw. A laptop should be a mobile devise designed to accommodate normal handling. It is nice that Lenovo wants to claim they have a very light machine. But a fragile laptop (that is expensive to repair) is a bad idea. Over the years I have purchased a number of Carbon X1s, but this is my last one. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!!!

Slow & Malfunctioning
I bought this laptop for my MBA program and it’s specs. The first month of owning it, the trackpad stopped working so I had to send it in to Lenovo. They fixed it, but that was inconvenient. Next, the laptop speed is hit or miss depending on what I’m asking of it. I would recommend going with a different laptop altogether for the price!
