Great option for 8-12 year olds
My 9 year old loves it! I like it because the parental controls app is super user friendly and I can monitor his video game usage, block certain games, and lock the switch if needed. Digital games are convenient also!

Buy the original power supply to go with this
Original product is great, but we’ll enough known that I won’t bother reviewing here. I’m specifically reviewing the refurbished version. This was a gift for my dad.First one came, worked great for about a week and then shut down, never to power up again… returned it, got a replacement a month later. During that week with the first one, the docking station didn’t seem to work, but my Dad figured it was something he was doing wrong. The second one came and had the same issues. When I finally got a chance to look at it, I realized they just threw in any old “Super Fast” power brick and didn’t bother to check the power requirements for the system. The original Nintendo power brick outputs 2.4A, but what was provided only output 0.7A. It worked fine for charging the battery overnight, but wasn’t enough to run the Switch in the dock. Not wanting to deal with the return process again, my dad ordered a Nintendo Original Equipment Power Supply and it works great now.

Fun and Versatile Console
Great for both handheld and TV play, and the game selection is fantastic. Joy-Cons feel a little small for long sessions, but overall an excellent system.
